Two workshops: Long Term Care and Intergeneration Transmisson

Last weekend and this weekend I joined the two excellent workshops in IZA.
There is an interesting difference bewteenn the two workshops. All the participations are almost female except some big shots such as R. Pollark and R. Willis in the first one. While the othe is exactly in the other end. Only one participation is female. I don't know why. But maybe a lot of female economists are focusing on the aging issues, I guess. To be honest, you have to admit the fact that the quality of the papers in the second is more better than that of the first ,as far as I am concerned.
There are not only some very good papers but some so so ones in the Long Term Care. While the standard of the papers in the Intergeneration Transmission is relatively average and several papers is wonderful. There are also several excellent researchers in this field such as B. Mazuda and A.Bjorklund.
I am also very happy to find that I am improving my communication skill all along, but there is still a little troubles in it. Actually I think there are two obstacles to prevent me on talking with others freely. One is the langue skill and custom I am not familiar to . The other is I almost have no idea about their studies. But anyway I still try my best to do what I can do.
